no more/not…any more与no longer/not…any longer（请注意是比较级longer)同义，都表示“不再...”，但使用上有所微妙的区别：当涉及数量和程度时，要用no more，而表示时间、强调今昔对比时多用no longer。如：
①There is no more bread. 没有面包了。
②We saw him no more = We didn't see him again. 我们再也没有看到他了。
而谈到时间、强调今昔对比时，不能用no more，而要用 not…any more, nolonger/ not…any/ longer。
