at the end of+地方。是指空间上的“最后”或者是故事到了最后,都可以啦

in the end of+事情。是指事情的“最后”。这是用于过去时的。
（e。g：In the end of the story，they got the gold metal。）

by the end of+时间。是时间上的“最后”。用于过去完成时
（e。g：By the end of last term，we have leant 3000 words。）

in the end后不加词，表示最后，一般也用在故事的最后，这当然就是过去式了。
（e。g：In the end，the boy worked out the problem ）
