only doing的意思是“结果就……",表示一个意料之中的结果
only to do的意思是“不料(却)……,结果(却)……", 表示一个没有料到的结果

都可以做目的状语
1.to do 表示的是意料之外的结果，常和搭配，如The reporter hurried to the airport, only to find the plane had took off.

2.doing 意料之中的结果 如 They dropped the plate on the floor, breaking into pieces.

问得太模糊，他们 的区别应该是doing和to do 的区别吧
