People always have problem with speaking a foreign language, althorugh they got a large vocabulary and learnt much grammar.

Like many would do,I suggest that you try to spaek out your idea without thinking it's Chinese expressions in advance.

And another better way is to translate the Chinese sentences you find in a Chinese-English dictionary into English first then to check the differences between your translation and the original English one presented in the dictionary.

There's people who speak brilliant english but are very poor in listening. they can not have a good conversation with others especially native speakers. So if you wanan be a good spaeker you should be a good listener first.

Don't try to speak a lot of words at a burst, just speak slowly and logically.

I recommend a American soap opera named Friends(六人行),you may learn much about the way American speak.

"oopsagain"... has some good advice (even with all the bad grammar, the advise is good!). The most important thing she/he says is that you have to LISTEN...you cannot do anything without. When you want to learn more about LISTENING - you should read my article on here about "Listen Skills"... Eveybody hears of course, but you would be really surprised to learn that so few listen.
