荆轲和高渐离:汉语中的‘了’用英语怎么说？

楼上弟兄们说的都很对啊，字字句句对着翻译是不可取的，不过你一定要问的话，应该用时态来表示。
举例：
i have already had my lunch.我已经吃过午饭了。

汉语的了,英语中主要由时态来表示,比如already,since都可以表示已经发生过的事情，就是“已经什么什么了”

我想，应该看这个字到底发什么音，liao还是le
le：end/finish/already....都可以，再结合语境和上下文，应该很容易解决
liao：understand/oversee/settle/know clearly....
