How can we save water?
Where there is air and water, there is life. It clearly tells us how important water is in our everyday life. As we all know, there are many countries in the world that are short of water, and China is one of the most serious.
In such conditions, how can we save water so as to make sure that we always have enough water to satisfy the needs of people's daily life and the development of agriculture and industry? In my opinion we should do as follows.
1. Let's treasure water, stop wasting water, properly control and reduce our everyday use of water consciously. Turn off the water as soon as we finish using it. Never play with water.
2. Protect all our present water resources from any pollution. Stop pouring wastewater or throwing other dirty things into the rivers, lakes and reservoirs.
3. Have the wastewater reused.
4. Never use more water than you need. If everyone can do so, we are sure to save a lot of water.

Many people believe that the world's supply of fresh
water will never be used up. They think that fresh water
comes from such a variety of sources that it is always
sufficient for use. Such an opinion leads to a shocking
waste of water.
As a matter of fact, the earth is short of fresh water.
Furthermore, with the rapid growth of the world's
population, the rising demand for water by industry, and
the serious pollution of our surroundings, the world is
facing the danger of running out of fresh water.
Actually, in some big cities, fresh water cannot meet
the daily needs.
Therefore, to find new ways to save water is an urgent
task. First, we should pass strict laws to control any
waste of water. Second, scientists must work even harder
to purify sea water and polluted water, and try to find
substitutes to reduce the use of fresh water.

Water is very important to humans. We can't live without water. The amount of water suitable to drink is falling. But some people don't seem to care about this. They waste a lot of water. They pour dirty water into rivers and pollute them. They throw rubbish into them, too. Many rivers and lakes are seriously polluted. We must do something to stop the pollution. We must protect the water as well as find ways to reuse it. If we don't, the last drop of water will be a tear-drop.

Save Water
Have you ever seen the pictures of those suffering people who struggle every day for just a few drops of water - the life-giving liquid? Water is not a never-ending resource, but a precious resource that is more valuable than anything else on the planet. Water is the most important thing for life, even greater than food. It is crucial that people understand this and establish an ideology that conserving water is the proper thing to do.

According to a senior official, China is facing a water crisis more severe and urgent than any other country in the world. Urgent measures must be taken to save water in its booming cities before the urban water ecosystem collapses. Per capita water availability in China is about one-quarter of the world average and expected to fall further. The crisis is caused by widespread drought, pollution, rapid economic growth and waste.

It is important to use water wisely. With so many ways to save water, here are the highlights to help you capture the water savings around your home. By following these simple suggestions, you will save money on your water bill while conserving the supply we all depend on.

Vegetables and fruit should be washed in a bowl rather than under a running tap and the leftover water can be used for watering plants. Never put water down the drain when there may be another use for it such as watering a plant or cleaning.

Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily. Do not use your toilet as a wastebasket. Dispose of tissues, insects and other such waste in the trash rather than the toilet.

Take shorter showers. Do not let water run while shaving, brushing your teeth or washing your hair or face. Recently, Singaporeans were urged to shower a minute less as part of a national water conservation effort.

Operate automatic dishwashers and clothes washers only when they are fully loaded or properly set the water level for the size of load you are using.

Many silent leaks allow water and your money to go down the drain. Verify that your home is leak-free, because many homes have hidden water leaks. Check your water meter for any possible leaks.

By thinking carefully about your water use in the home and changing some water-wasting habits, it is easy to save water.

Save the Water
Charles Li, Chief Representative in China for the Royal Bank of Scotland, says one tough task faced by Beijing is the shortage of water. “I still remember swiming in the river when I was a child. However, the river has dried up now,” he said. He introduced some ideas for coping with the problem. Li said that in Japan, domestic appliances are often designed with two buttons for different water quantities and the water is often recycled. “Just imagine, if each new building can have this kind of equipment, how much water could be saved,” he asked.Li also suggested using better irrigating devices, such as underground watering systems. As well as better reaching the roots of the grass and trees, this can save lots of water. “So much of the water poured out from hose pipes just evaporates,” he pointed out.
