Introduction
Throughout most of this book,we have stressed the potential for using information technology to have a positive affect on organizations and society,as with many powerful tools ,however,the application of I/T needs to be tempered with caution,the positive potential is enormous,but the negative potential is equally large,earlier in the book ,we mentioned some potential risks and problems arising from the use of information technology,such as losing competitive positioning in an industry or facing ethical dilemmas, in this chapter we address some additional issues related to the management of information systems resources ,including security and other operational risks.
