automotive一般是和汽车有关的，广义一点还有“机动”的意思，就是指引擎作动力的。
automatic是“自动”，这词容易理解吧？就是自己控制自己，不用外界或人去操控。比如自动开关，自动洗衣机什么的。再比如，automatic shrinking of the pupils of the eyes in strong light.强光下瞳孔不由自主的缩小。这是瞳孔不受人控制的反应，所以是automatic。这些查一下字典、动一动脑子不就明白了么？
