摘要：革命后代项小米的长篇小说《英雄无语》讲述了自己的爷爷一个地下工作者的一生经历,展示了他的英雄行为、业绩和他的英雄主义,同时作家也站在理性、人性的立场上反思英雄和英雄主义。在作家看来爷爷是一个不同以往的英雄，他是红黑相间紫色的英雄，他身上有光明又有着另人窒息的阴暗。但是他毕竟是个英雄，他与他战友的功绩推动历史的车轮，虽然他们有些方面很令人痛恨，但是他们仍然值得我们后人纪念，尤其是在这个英雄匮乏的物质惟上的年代。
