Fig.12— 15 illustrate the phase current and exciting current waveforms of the exciter at several operation conditions.According to the figures,it’s easy to find that the exciting current waveforms change obviously when a fault of the rotor occurs and the waveforms at various kinds of faults are different.Knowledge of the above characters is very important and signi ficant for the real—time diagnosis of the faults in the rotor of a brushless AC generator with a rotary rectifier.
