用现在式是指照片中的人作为照片的构成要素时的状态, 而不是这些人当时的动作.
所以用现在式
因为当时看到“我们”那一刻正处于站在左边的状态，现在进行时有时是表是一种状态。如：I saw him was swaming this morning.
从上下文的意思来看,他们在讨论相片. 看这个动作应该是当时进行的动作. 所以可以用现在式.
我觉得这应该是指着照片或者屏幕说得。
因为他在说当时的情景,是那时候正在发生的.而不是以现在面对你的立场来说.
当某人指着某物向某人介绍时，当然要用现在时表状态了！
