Ref. application for a training period in Capital Market Finance

Madam, Sir,

I am currently in my second year at the ESCEM Business and Management School, and I am doing an optional year, since January 2006, specializing in Capital Market Finance, a field in which I would like to work at the end of my studies.

I took a class preparing for entrance to the grandes écoles with a scientific option and I currently specialize in finance. Additionally, I have knowledge in financial mathematics consolidated by the regular follow-up of the seminar on the stochastic processes organized by Mr. Patrice Poncet, a financial adviser.

In addition to my first experience in Private Inheritance Management, I am currently working, for the first part of the optional year, at Lyxor Asset Management, a leader in Europe on the trackers and subsidiary company of the Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking (“Equity Derivatives” Department) in Fund Structuring.

During my mission I have been involved in:

- a strategy for the follow-up of the tracker funds from their creation to their launching; and the study of allocation strategies of the baskets of funds to reduce the risks of the market and benefit from their evolution; and by the realization of simulations on the historical market data (calculations of: different balances, risks, rates, final performances with the different accrued performances at the different recording dates, costs, commissions, and taxation...),

- Structuring Models for the tracker funds, the alternative management funds, the Jersey funds [CPPI (Constant Portfolio Insurance Strategies)] and the French funds,

- a management of the impact of the events of the company on share prices by auditing Operations On Shares (via the calculation of an adjustment factor) on correlations and volatilities of formula funds.

This first experience has been rich in knowledge due to the study of new products.
Moreover I wish to work for the second part of my optional year in the same field, to reinforce my knowledge, and/or abroad, insofar as I have attended a degree course in English-Language, and as I have studied Chinese for 2 years in an intensive way, to understand the various financial cultures. I could put forward my rigour, my willingness to advance and learn, my aptitude to work in team, by capitalizing on my education and my experiences.
