1.speak:
(1)speak+语言，如：He speaks English. 他讲英语。
（2）speak to sb.与某人谈话（用语较为正式的场合或严重的情况），如：I'll speak to him about the matter.我要和他谈谈这 件事。
（3）打电话时的用语：This is ... speaking.我是......
Who is that speaking?你是哪位？
May I speak to ...? 能让......听电话吗？

2.like:
(1)like sth.喜欢某物，如：I like flowers very much. 我很喜欢花。
(2)like to do sth.想要做某事，常与would或should连用，如：I would like to have a cup to tea.我想喝杯茶。
(3)like doing sth.喜欢做某事，如：I like swimming. 我喜欢游泳。

3.want:
(1)want sth.想要某物，如：I want an ice cream.我想要个冰淇淋。
（2）want to do sth.想要做某事，如：I want to have a rest.我想休息 一下。
（3）want sb. to do sth.想让某人做某事，如：The teacher want you to be on time next time. 老师希望你下回准时。

4.help:
(1)help sb. (to) do sth.帮助某人做某事，如：My father will help me (to) repair my bicycle.我父亲会帮我修理我的自行车。

(2)help sb. with sth.帮助某人做某事，如：I will help you with your English.我会辅导你英语的。
