attend改为take
for改为because
its limited number of candidates改为its limitation on the number of candidates
楼上的说的不对，首先attend和take 在这里都可以用，不换也行，其次句子中的at 应该改成on，具体时间前用on。for和because在引导原因状语从句时，for的用法是争取的，用because的话后面的就是一个分句了，要加逗号的，一般的句法知识！
because改为because of 后面接的是名词，ON August 12th，感觉用could not 更好
at 改成 on 就可以了
