in future 是从今以后的意思

in the future是将来的意思 （距离比较远，将来的 某个时间）

eg:I will work hard in future
我以后要努力学习
I want to be a great scientist in the future.
我将来想当一名伟大的科学家

in the future表示在将来
in future表示from now on 从现在开始

in future (BrE) (AmE in the future) from now on:今后、从今以后之意 (此处in future为英国英语， in the future为美国英语。
例：1）Please be more careful in future. 今后小心
点。
2） In future, make sure the door is never left unlocked.今后一定要注意把门锁上。

in the future:the time that will come after the present or the events that will happen then:在将来、未来
