five thousand of people 五千人，这里five thousand的后面不能加of！
有s时才有of，没有s时，也没有of！！！

楼主要记得，有像“hundred""thousand"和"million"、"billion"一类的词，用法如下：
①数字 + hundred/thousand/million/billion（后面不要s，也不要of）；
②hundreds/thousands/millions/billions of

例子：成千上万 thousands upon thousands

准确的时候就不加了

thousands of people 数以千计的人

基数词在表示确切的数字时，不能使用百、千、百万、十亿的复数形式，而是直接用在数量的后面，如3 hundred, 5 thousand, 7 million, 9 billion；

但是，当基数词表示不确切数字，如成百、成千上万，三三两两时，基数词则以复数形式出现,如：hundreds of , thousands of, millions of 意思是：数以百计的，成千上万的，上百万的，

在表示成百上千时要加s,如果表示一千或几千一个有限的数时不加s
